DAN KAHL
PASTOR
Pastor Dan Kahl was born and raised in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. His family was and continues to be very active in the Church. They were in worship every Sunday and sang in choirs, led liturgy and participated in Sunday school and youth groups.
Dan attended Luther College where he continued to be active in the student congregation. He and some friends formed a band that would become the band "Sojourn,” a Christian rock band that toured around the Midwest. Pastor Dan attended Luther Seminary and was called to Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. He remained there for 16 years. He was a pastor in Waverly Iowa and then in 2016 was called to Grace.
Dan is married to Lissa Kahl, who is also a pastor. She is currently serving in Corwith Iowa, and they live in Humboldt (between Fort Dodge and Corwith). They have two remarkable children. Their son Isaiah is in his second year at Luther College and their daughter Jordan is a senior at Humboldt High School.
Dan enjoys singing, going to concerts and musicals (especially when his kids are playing or singing), disc golf, golf, fishing, kayaking, hiking, traveling, eating desserts (especially chocolate and pecan pie.) He enjoys being the pastor at Grace because, like the Olive Garden ad says, “When you’re here, you’re family.”
